Bijli Mahadev Temple is a popular religious site located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Perched on a hilltop at an altitude of 2,460 meters, the temple offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it is believed that the lightning bolt that strikes the temple’s flagstaff (called “bijli” in Hindi) every year during the monsoon season symbolizes the deity’s presence. The temple can be reached by a steep trek of around 3 km from the base of the hill, or by a cable car that takes visitors most of the way up. The serene and scenic atmosphere around the temple makes it a popular destination for tourists and devotees alike.
