The Miyar Valley is located in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul and Spiti district, in the northwest. From Udaipur to the impressive Kang la, the Miyar valley stretches for more than 75 miles. The Miyar River, also known as Miyar Nala, flows about 50 kilometers from the glacier’s snout into the Chenab River. The high Kang La Jot is reached by a further 24 km of this glacier ( 5,468 m). The union territory of Ladakh’s Zanskar is located to the north of Kang La. The valley of flowers in Miyar is another name for it. Similar to Zanskar, it is an undeveloped region where the most of the inhabitants are shepherds and farmers who adhere to Buddhist traditions. Growing peas, barley, and other vegetables throughout the summer.
